Women/Trans/Femme (WTF) 2024 Bikepacking Trip!
Saturday, June 1 (~2pm) to Sunday, June 2 (leave campsite ~10am to return ~11:00-11:30am)
The Iowa City Bike Library and Bur Oak Land Trust are teaming up to bring you another fun Women/Trans*/Femme Bike Touring Adventure.
Saturday, June 1st. Meet at 2:00pm at the Bike Library. We hit the road at 2:30pm. The Bike Library is open at 10am for fixes.
Sunday, June 2nd: 10am (or earlier) pack up and return.
The main route with leads and sweep will involve 11.8 miles of pavement, gravel, and B roads to arrive at the Bur Oak Land Trust property. There is also an alternate 14.3 mile all paved route. The paved route may be taken self-supported with a friend or small group to meet the main group at the campsite if gravel is not your thing.
Bur Oak prefers that we do not publicly post the location on social media. Routes and exact location will be sent to registrants. Email info@bikelibrary.org or susanstamnes@gmail.com if you have any questions prior to registering about the route.
Event Registration opens soon. We will post here and on social media. Limit of 20 people.
Provided: Drinking water, cold drinks, port-a-potty, firewood, and fire starters.
The overnight will offer a short hike with a Bur Oak naturalist, possible creek stomp, possible foraging, campfire, and plenty of conversation. It's a smaller property. Expect a nice chill evening.
The event is free. We do suggest that you make a donation to cover the port-a-potty rental. The Bike Library is also undergoing a capital campaign and additional donations are very welcome!
Contact Susan Stamnes if you need any gear. I have an extra complete kit including a single tent.
