Job Title: Youth Bike Coordinator
Position Overview:
The Bike Library has proudly hosted regularly scheduled youth programs for the past six years, reaching youth most in need of support through close collaboration with partner organizations. We are now seeking a Youth Bike Coordinator to orchestrate our growing programs, manage volunteers, and maintain strong partnerships.The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong ability to work with young people, and either a moderate to expert understanding of bike mechanics or a fervent desire to learn. A background in social work or youth programming is a plus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Programming and Curriculum Implementation
- Coordinate and lead youth programs, including:
- Bike Club for K-6 students; seasonal.
- Bike Camp, a six-week series of week-long camps; summer.
- OutSpoken Teens, a weekly earn-a-bike program, year-round.
- Implement a nationally developed youth bike safety curriculum in all programming.
- Develop and expand initiatives for specific groups, such as girl-specific programming and neighborhood bike-to-school rides.
- Conduct outreach to recruit youth participants from schools and local communities, focusing on underserved neighborhoods.
- Partner with nonprofits, schools, and other organizations to provide resources and programming to youth.
- Act as a liaison between the Bike Library and partner organizations to ensure clear communication and collaboration.
- Teach STEM concepts through bicycle mechanics and riding.
- Provide instruction on safe cycling practices and bicycle maintenance to youth participants.
- Create clear and engaging project instructions for participants.
- Schedule and manage volunteers for youth programs in collaboration with other staff.
- Provide training and development opportunities for volunteers to support youth programming.
- Maintain accurate records of youth participants, including parental consent forms.
- Work closely with the Director and Fundraising Coordinator to market youth programs to potential donors.
- Provide accurate data and demographics of youth served to support grant applications and donor reporting.
- Assistance with shop support as needed.
- Repair bikes for the Checkout System and As-Is Bikes selection in the slow season.
- Passion for teaching and working with young people.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Moderate to expert understanding of bike mechanics or a strong desire to learn.
- Background in social work, education, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and partner organizations.
- Commitment to fostering confidence and independence in youth through cycling.

Work Schedule
- Full-time salaried: 40 hours per week.
- The position will include local travel and some evenings and events.
- $41,600 - $50,000 depending on experience.
- Healthcare: 100% of premium.
- Paid Vacation:
- 1 week for the 1st year, increasing by 1 week every year to a maximum of 4 weeks.
- Paid Holidays: 10 per year.
- Personal Days: 2 per year.
